Songwriter/producer/keyboardist Freddie Perren's first big break came as a member of the Corporation, the songwriters/producers/arrangers collective behind the early Motown hits of the Jackson 5 including their three consecutive number one pop hits, "I Want You Back," "ABC," and "The Love You Save." The other members were Motown founder Berry Gordy, Fonce Mizell, and Deke Richards. Perren met Mizell when both were attending Howard University in Washington, D.C.
