Funky is the alias of Puerto Rico's Luis Raúl Marrero, a singer, songwriter, and producer of Latin Christian urban music. Passionate about rap and freestyling since his teenage years, Marrero founded the duo Stylo with Julio Mujica in 1997, and soon managed to secure a recording deal. Encouraged by his friend Vico C, one year later Marrero decided to become a Christian artist. His first venture into the genre was, in fact, to produce some of the songs on Vico C's Aquel Que No Había Muerto.
