Biography

The Gabrieli Consort & Players is one of England's best-known smaller early music choral and instrumental groups. It is particularly known for its interest in the century of Baroque music that preceded Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi. The group evolved from a student chamber choir and period-instrument ensemble founded at Manchester University, England, by student conductor and cellist Paul McCreesh in 1982.
