Formed in the working-class region of the Grande ABC, the cities joined to the metropolitan-area of São Paulo, the Garotos Podres started playing punk rock and Oi! (slower punk rock style). The first recording was the LP Mais Podres Do Que Nunca, which sold up to 50,000 copies, a landmark then for an independent and punk rock production in Brazil.
