Geddes Axe were a hard-edged quartet from Sheffield, England active at the dawn of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement that spawned more popular peers Def Leppard and Saxon (both from Sheffield). Despite acclaim for their edgy, raw, progressive sound from the British metal press, and playing high-profile gigs opening for internationally renowned peers, they only managed to release a few recordings including two EPs, Return of the Gods (1981) and Escape from New York, before disbanding. A limited-edition compilation entitled Aftermath appeared in 2016.
