Not to be confused with the East Coast indie label of (almost) the same name, Gern Blanston was a metallic noise rock trio from Portland, OR. Taking their name from an obscure Steve Martin reference (about his alleged real name growing up), the band featured guitarist/vocalist Jeff Blanston, his sister Jillian Wyznick, and drummer Dean Miles. In 1993, they issued a split 7" single with Portland emo band Thirty Ought Six on the Cavity Search label.
