While Björk began her quest for avant pop stardom soon after the Sugarcubes split up, her trumpet-playing, shouting, and always-eccentric Cube mate Einar Örn Benediktsson (often just Einar Örn) took a decade off before returning in 2004 with his solo debut, Ghostigital, on the Honest Jons label. Recorded with Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Curver, the duo would later adopt the album's title as the name for any future projects.
