Biography

Pianist Hamish Milne was a proponent of the Romantic repertoire, especially that of Nikolai Medtner. He performed as a soloist with major British orchestras, was a frequent performer on BBC broadcasts, gave concerts throughout the world, and was an educator and an author. Milne was born in Salisbury, England, on April 27, 1939. He attended Bishop Wordsworth's School in Salisbury, then studied piano at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Harold Craxton.
