Since her aunt trained racehorses, ethereal singer/songwriter Heather Duby once dreamed of being a jockey when she grew up. But like a lot of children of the '70s, she discovered the Cure and Joy Division as a teenager. Duby started writing songs; she concentrated on melody and found herself enjoying the task.
