Helen Carter

b. Helen Myrl Carter, 12 September 1927, Maces Springs, Scott County, Virginia, USA, d. 1 June 1998, Nashville, Tennessee, USA. The eldest daughter of Mother Maybelle Carter of the legendary Carter Family. At the age of eight, she was playing mandolin, piano, piano accordion and guitar and in 1939, she and sisters Anita and June were appearing on Border Radio as members of the Carter Family.
