Biography

The 130-member Hertfordshire Chorus performs not only in its home county north of greater London but in top venues around Britain. The group has provided choral singers for several BBC television shows. The Hertfordshire Chorus was formed in 1970 as the Hatfield Philharmonic Chorus; it was associated with the Hatfield Philharmonic Orchestra (now the Hatfield Philharmonic Society). The orchestra and chorus were both conducted by Frank Shipway. He was succeeded in 1973 by Michael Kibblewhite.
