A Southwestern R&B ensemble, Hi-Five found success with a sound that updated elements of the Jackson 5 and New Edition. The quintet debuted on Jive in 1990 with a self-titled album, which featured a Top Ten pop hit with "I Can't Wait Another Minute," as well as the number one hit "I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)."
