In Pieces first started using the name Born to Resist in 1998, in Glastonbury, CT. Steve Elin (vocals), Ryan Horrigan (guitar), Scott (guitar), Steve (bass), and TJ (drums) embodied a band that, not long after forming, chose their musical ground to be on the sharpest scenarios of the hardcore style, still managing to keep a higher sense of melody.
