Composer and arranger Ines Velasco brings together a deep grasp of the post-bop jazz and large ensemble traditions with a passion for the culture of her native Mexico. In 2025, she released her debut album, A Flash of Cobalt Blue, bringing together her big band compositions with the poetry of Mexican writer Jorge Esquinca.
