Biography
The project of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native Drew Bandos, Is and of The trades in delicate, largely instrumental sound collages that call to mind Boards of Canada, Slowdive, and Do Make Say Think. During his sophomore year of college in Washington, D.C., Bandos decided to start making music, and Is and of The was born. After sending demos to numerous labels, he found a home for his music on Mush Records. The label released his official debut Head Phased for Dreamless Sleep -- which originated as music to help Bandos beat his insomnia -- in September 2011. ~ Heather Phares
