Conductor Jan Łukaszewski is one of Eastern Europe's leading specialists in choral music, with an orientation toward often difficult contemporary works. He is the conductor and artistic director of the Polski Chór Kameralny.
Łukaszewski was born on August 1, 1949, in Gdansk, Poland, and grew up in the city's Oliwa district; there, he founded the Mozartiana festival in 2006.
