Wisconsin guitarist Jared James Nichols plays stripped-back, '70s-style, hard-rocking blues with his eponymous power trio.
Born in 1989 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and brought up in nearby East Troy, Nichols was initially inspired, like many blues guitarists, by Stevie Ray Vaughan (who coincidentally played his final show before his fatal plane crash in Nichols' hometown). In his late teens he started trying to find his own style and eventually incorporated more hard rock influences, ending up with a sound that was often compared to Cream or Mountain.
