Jim Causley

b. 31 October 1981, Exeter, Devon, England. Causley's parents were folk singers and he was immersed in traditional music from a young age. He sang in church and folk choirs and also attended Sidmouth and Dartmoor folk festivals. Later, he studied at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, becoming an early graduate of that institution's Folk and Traditional Music degree course. Meanwhile, he sang throughout the UK, his rich, bass voice attracting favourable attention.
