Singer, songwriter, disc jockey, and radio host and personality Jim Lowe is most remembered for his version of "Green Door," a song written by Marvin Moore and Bob Davie, which hit number one on the singles charts in the U.S. in 1956. Born May 7, 1923 in Springfield, Missouri, Lowe had a long run as a disc jockey at WNEW-AM in New York, and was also heard on WNBC-AM in New York and on the NBC Radio program Monitor.
