Jorge Mester

Jorge Mester is among the more important American conductors of his generation. He rose to prominence as a champion of contemporary music, conducting and recording works by Cowell, Crumb, Mennin, Piston, Ginastera, Chávez, Penderecki, and many others. He made over 70 recordings of new music, mostly for the pioneering CRI label.
