Juanita & Juan is a collaboration between two pioneering figures on the Los Angeles punk scene, though you might not guess that listening to their music. Alice Bag and Kid Congo Powers are longtime friends and Mexican-American artists who grew up on Chicano music as well as rock & roll, and they drew on the influence of Latin culture as well as lounge music, synth pop, and commercial folk, for their first project together.
