Chicago rapper Kene Ekwunife began performing under the stage name KAMI in the early 2010s. As a founding member of the Savemoney collective, KAMI was part of a group of artists driven to explore the more experimental and boundary-pushing side of hip-hop, and saw fellow Savemoney members like Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa rise to enormous fame.
