Australian singer and songwriter KIAN blends yearning acoustic pop and elements of dreamy hip-hop. Shortly after launching his recording career in his mid-teens with a pair of rap collaborations, he made his debut on the Australian singles chart with the pop ballad "Waiting" in 2018. The child of two musicians, Kian Maxwell Bytyci Brownfield was born in Castlemaine, Victoria, in 2002. He got his first guitar at age seven and was writing songs by his early teens.
