Boasting formidable rapping, singing, and dancing skills, South Korean performer Kim Jonghyeon (also Kim Jong-hyeon, JR) debuted as the leader of Pledis boy group NU'EST, with whom he enjoyed a ten-year run of successful albums and tours. When his contract with the group ended, he ventured into solo work, debuting in 2022 with his first studio mini-album, Meridiem.
