Biography
Formed in 1973, this English jazz-funk instrumental group comprised Richard James Burgess (vocals/computer/drums), Andy Pask (bass), Christopher Heaton (keyboards), Peter Thomas (trombone/synthesizer) and John Walters (computer programming/wind synthesizers). They built up a loyal following by continuously touring and after a couple of years formed their own independent record label. Their album debut came in 1979 when they signed to RCA Records. The record sold badly, despite the strong reputation they had gained as a live act. In 1980, ‘European Man' revealed a new direction...
