Laura Minor began her musical career after moving to Gainesville, FL, where she met fellow singer/songwriter Jared Flamm. Minor had long considered herself a serious writer and had in fact come to Gainesville to work on a book. Yet after singing Gram Parsons' "Return of the Grievous Angel" with Flamm at a party in April 2001, the two began adapting her writing, particularly her poems, into songs. Soon after reinventing herself as a music performer, she took her songwriting to the next level and signed with HighTone Records. She worked with David Lowery (Cracker, Camper Van Bee...
