Baltimore, MD, based singer/songwriter Lawrence Lanahan spent ten years learning about music before starting his own career in it at the age of 29. DJing in college, studying jazz with guitarist Carl Filipiak, working on his master's thesis "The Social Meaning of Musical Improvisation," running an after-school music program for kids, and playing in the jazz-funk band Juicebox were all experiences that exposed him to different sounds.
