Leo Blech

Biography

Leo Blech was a German composer and conductor known for his interpretations of Wagner, Verdi, and Bizet's Carmen. He was admired for his clear and sensitive conducting style, and for his operas. Blech was born in Aachen in 1871 and received his first musical instruction at the Berlin University of the Arts. There he studied piano with Ernst Rudorff, and composition with Woldemar Bargiel.
