Theatrical heavy-rock band, Lizzy Borden, formed in Los Angeles in 1983, taking their name from the infamous axe murderess. Utilizing strong sexual and horror imagery, their style owed a debt to pioneering rocker Alice Cooper. Their contribution to the METAL MASSACRE IV compilation impressed Metal Blade label boss Brian Slagel enough to offer the group a recording contract.
