Playing polished but muscular contemporary country music with an extra portion of rock & roll guitar, Logan Mize had some success as a songwriter -- American Idol finalist Bucky Covington cut one of his songs -- prior to the 2012 release of his Big Yellow Dog debut Nobody in Nashville. Mize spent the rest of the decade playing the Nashville game, making some headway on the lower reaches of the Billboard country charts, before he relocated to his native Kansas and started writing songs about the midwest with 2021's Welcome to Prairieville.
