Lois Deloatch

An emerging jazz vocalist with roots in gospel and blues, Lois Deloatch Dawson studied at the University of North Carolina and appeared with the BSM Gospel Choir. She began teaching music workshops around the area, studied with the vocal coach Martha Flowers and was advanced to the semi-finals of BET's Jazz Discovery Showcase. Dawson released her first album, the earthy Sunrise, in 1998. ~ John Bush
