Unusually, Loopdrop's self-titled 2001 debut album featured electronic paeans to oranges (‘Naranja (Otra Mezcla)') and tricycles (‘Triciclo') as well as pretty electro pop elegies that translated as ‘If All The Stars Were Extinguished' (‘Si Todas Las Estrellas Se Apagaran'). Loopdrop is the alter ego of Tijuana, Mexico-based multi-instrumentalist Rene Soberanis (b. Mexico).
