Formed in 1959 as the Skiffle Lords, this German act dropped the prefix four years later, upon adopting a style more in keeping with British beat. In September 1964 they won a ‘Battle Of The Bands' contest at Hamburg's famed Star Club, the prize for which was a recording contract. Although their debut single, ‘Hey Baby, Lass Den Ander'n', was sung in German, subsequent releases featured their highly stylized version of English.
