Born in the Lyon suburb of Venissieux in 1978, French-Martinique vocalist Louisy Joseph left school at the age of 15 to pursue her musical ambitions before landing a place in L5, the girl band that formed on France's first series of Popstars in 2001 and went on to score a chart-topping debut single and album before disbanding five years later.
