Luca Yupanqui

Luca Yupanqui's 2021 release Sounds of the Unborn is an album of abstract electronic soundscapes based on recordings made while its credited author was still in her mother's womb, using biosonic MIDI technology. A remix album, Conversations, followed in 2022. Luca's parents are Psychic Ills bassist Elizabeth Hart and Argentine musician Iván Diaz Mathé. During Hart's pregnancy, the two artists attached MIDI devices to her stomach and translated the heartbeats, movements, and vibrations into sound using synthesizers, recording five hour-long sessions.
