Luis Muñoz is an award-winning recording artist, composer, producer, arranger, and percussionist. Born in Costa Rica, he was educated at the University of Costa Rica and the National Music Conservatory. He made his U.S. leader debut with Fruit of Eden in 1996, followed by 1998's instrumental Compassion. 2004's Vida won Muñoz the Costa Rica's ACAM industry award for Jazz Composer/Producer of the Year.
