Guitarist Matthew Schwandt and bassist Jeff Zuehlke were two likeminded players who found themselves in the same Minneapolis bands throughout the mid-'90s. Schwandt moved to Nashville in 1997, meeting up with guitarist Micah Horton almost immediately. The two became fast songwriting buddies, eventually putting together enough material to warrant live performances.
