Mae McKenna

b. Scotland. A contemporary Scottish vocalist who contributed an impressive performance on Contraband's sole album in 1973. Shortly after they disbanded, Transatlantic launched McKenna as a singer-songwriter. She recorded a series of competent, but undistinguished albums before spending most of the 80s as a session singer with pop artists such Rick Astley, and Ultravox. In 1988 McKenna surprisingly reappeared on the Virgin Records Venture offshoot with the Celtic, new age Nightfallers.
