Flutist Mario Ancillotti has collaborated with various major musicians as an orchestral player, soloist, and chamber musician. He is also a significant educator.
Ancillotti was born in Florence in 1946. He studied at the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence, where he came under the influence of a great variety of musicians, not only flutists. These included composer Luigi Dallapiccola, the Quartetto Italiano, and flutist-composer Carlo Prosperi.
