Truly a cult artist, at least for the first few years of his career, Markant (born Carsten Endrass) churned out multiple LPs a year, each extremely limited in supply and relatively expensive in price. People went out of their way to find the many Markant releases, however. The producer's LPs featured a style of down-tempo techno that borders on IDM and glitch and drew comparisons to early Authechre and Boards of Canada.
