Biography
An adventurous jazz drummer, Mark Guiliana is known both for his work as a sideman and a bandleader. He garnered early 21st century notice in the bands of bassist Avishai Cohen, saxophonist Donny McCaslin, and guitarist Brad Shepik. He has since gained acclaim for a variety of other boundary-pushing projects. Guiliana made electronic music as early as Beat Music in 2012 and The Los Angeles Improvisations in 2014. He and pianist Brad Mehldau released 2014's electronic jazz work Mehliana: Taming the Dragon. In 2016, Guiliana played on Blackstar, David Bowie's final album. The dr...
