London singer/songwriter Mark William Lewis' unique style incorporates elements of pop, ambient, indie rock, slowcore, and folk.
Lewis was born and raised in Stamford Hill in the cosmopolitan London borough of Hackney. His father was a writer, and he grew up reading the poetry of T.S. Eliot, James Joyce, and Allen Ginsberg, and listening to Bob Dylan and Neil Young; as he entered his teenage years, his taste grew to encompass electronic music, indie rock, rap, and grime. He was also influenced by Nick Drake and the Durutti Column, as well as many visual artists.
