MARO is the professional name of Portuguese composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Mariana Secca. Her velvety, arid alto frames carefully crafted songs sung primarily in Portuguese and English. In 2018, she released her 22-track, eponymously titled debut in three volumes; she released the duo set Maro & Manel with Manuel Rocha, and It's OK, a solo collection of nine electro-acoustic folk songs in English, the same year.
