Cellist Martin Rummel, who specializes in contemporary music and music of the 20th century, has amassed a large catalog of recordings as a soloist and chamber music player. He is also the author of crime fiction. Rummel has given the world premieres of some 20 cello concertos. He has also recorded much traditional repertory, and in 2025, he joined the Acies Quartett on a recording of Schubert's String Quintet in C major, D. 956.
