Mary McBride

Born in Louisiana but raised in the Washington, D.C., area, Mary McBride took to music at an early age. After moving to New York, the musician began performing where and when she could, whether on the street or in the city's countless subway corridors. Her performances later moved to Brownies, Mercury Lounge, the Bowery Ballroom, and Joe's Pub. Gaining a larger following after numerous gigs, McBride was compared to Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, and Lucinda Williams.
