Messiah

Messiah is the alias of Latin trap pioneer Benito Emanuel García. Born in 1990 in Santiago, Dominican Republic, he moved to Harlem when he was two years old and grew up simultaneously immersed in the neighborhood's hip-hop street culture and the Latin romantic fare his parents favored at home. Such a bicultural education would serve him well in the future, as he was among the first to combine reggaeton and trap (and to sing equally in Spanish and English), creating the blueprint for the Latin trap boom that would explode in the mid-2010s.
