Messiah is the alias of Latin trap pioneer Benito Emanuel García. Born in 1990 in Santiago, Dominican Republic, he moved to Harlem when he was two years old and grew up simultaneously immersed in the neighborhood's hip-hop street culture and the Latin romantic fare his parents favored at home.
