Since the mid-'70s, guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Michael Gregory Jackson has proved fluent in jazz of all stripes, soul, funk, folk, blues, and rock. He began his career working alongside Oliver Lake, David Murray, and Julius Hemphill (three-quarters of the World Saxophone Quartet) and appeared on several of the discs in Wildflowers: The New York Loft Jazz compilation series.
