Biography
After enjoying success as the leader of alt-rock band the Heavy Hours, Michael Marcagi has stepped out on his own with the 2024 EP American Romance -- and folky originals like the breakout hit "Scared to Start" have met with viral success. Following a second EP, Midwest Kid, he delivered his first full-length, Under the Streetlights, in 2026, refining his style of yearning folk-rock.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marcagi formed the band that would become the Heavy Hours in high school, and had a novelty hit with a full-band cover of Dua Lipa's "Don't Start Now" in 2021. Debut...
