Biography
A highly regarded Canadian jazz saxophonist, Mike Murley is a versatile performer whose work has straddled acoustic post-bop, big band, and fusion. Following early work in the '80s, Murley rose to fame after winning the Juno Award for Best Jazz Album for 1990's Two Sides. He also took home Juno Awards with his contemporary fusion group Metalwood and released a bevy of his own sessions, including 2002's Juno-winning Live at the Senator, 2006's The Melody Lingers On, and 2012's Juno Award-winning trio album Test of Time.
