Minyo Crusaders

Minyo Crusaders are a large group from Fussa City, Tokyo who rework min'yō songs (a type of traditional Japanese working-class folk music) into lively and exciting new forms with new arrangements that draw from cumbia, salsa, and rhythms from the Caribbean, Africa, South America, and beyond. After releasing their first album, Echoes of Japan, in 2017, the group gradually grew in popularity, developing an impressive stage show that kept them steadily touring in Europe most years.
